Gearing up for full-time interviews in consulting or corporate roles? Want to get excellent interview preparation? Curious to learn about how consulting preparation can help your candidacy in other fields as well? University of Chicago Doctoral students and Postdocs are invited to join the UChicago Graduate Consulting Club, myCHOICE, BSD Postdoc Association and UChicagoGRAD in welcoming Schilling & Associates to campus for "Capture Consulting Offers." This is a multi-week intensive opportunity for PhD's and postdocs to build a better understanding of consulting and corporate hiring processes, write stronger resumes, and interview/network effectively. *Please note that this event is tailored to doctoral and postdoctoral job candidates. Additional workshops on consulting open to master's students will take place at GRADUCon (April 8) and at this summer's third annual Consulting Boot Camp.* Why attend? Many consulting firms hire doctoral and postdoctoral candidates from across disciplines and degree programs. Consulting is of growing perennial interest to doctoral candidates, and Pam's workshops can be instrumental in your success on the consulting job market. Moreover, lessons from the job document editing, interview preparation, and networking tutorials in this series can be applied to careers in many field. This is more than a crash course in consulting: it is a rigorous introduction to transferable professional skills. Attendance at the first session is mandatory (there is no cost associated with the first event) In its partnerships with myCHOICE and UChicagoGRAD, UGCC is heavily subsidizing this multi-week workshop. The cost of attending the six sessions after the introductory week is . This money helps offset the total cost of the event. Food will be provided at each event. Schedule: Seven Sessions Feb 6: Kickoff (10AM-1PM) Feb 13: Industry Overview (10AM-1PM) Feb 20: Resumes (10AM-1PM) March 5: Essays/Cover Letters (10AM-1PM) March 26: Case Workshop -- Please note: this special session is 10AM-5PM April 9: Behavioral Interviews (10AM-1PM) April 23: Execution/Wrap-up (10AM-1PM) About the Presenter, Pam Schilling: Pam is a seasoned career coach, former strategy consultant and tech-company finance leader, and a Chicago Booth MBA. She has built a global career advisory practice tailored to MBAs and Masters/PhD students pursuing business roles. Over the last 15 years, she has been coaching, training, and conducting mock interviews, helping students secure positions with top recruiters, including McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Deloitte Consulting, Accenture, AT Kearney, Campbell Alliance, E&Y, KPMG, LEK, PwC, ZS Associates, and other boutique consulting firms. This workshop has a foundation based on key components that consulting firms look for in applications and interviews, case solving methods leveraging Harvard Business School's case analysis approach, and Pam's own experience as a consulting interviewer and career coach.
